Hi everyone,

Wow, day 3 of Husky Bootcamp. Boy this is sure a a lot of work and I need lots of power naps during the day. Good thing they let me take everyone I ask for and even
get a few I did not know I needed. We met some more of the great neighbors to day and got to play many times outside on the cool long grass.
I think these two leggers will get properly trained up in no time at all. I think they have been properly trained before. Do have my work cut out for me with “TM” (Trouble
Maker) the grumpy old bluefronted amazon. He just leaves me alone for the most part put I hate it when he talks exactly like me and then laughs like the two leggers.
I just got a minute free to send this e-mail with some attached photos of today.I think I like em so I’ll do the best I can here, Eh??
Love all of you, miss you much at times,

Well I finally got a moment to say hi.
Can’t believe I’m 8 weeks old now. Up early every morning for my wakeup walk, (The wakeup is for Isabel, I’m always ready to go!!)
I think I am getting this “go to the door” to take care of business thing. But I must say that I haven’t seen paper one since I got here.nbsp; They are just there all the time when I need.Don’t these guys ever take a break. How can a willing Husky get into any real good trouble??? They are always watching.

I am trying to figure out this wet stuff is falling from out of the sky???; Where is the white stuff. They keep telling me its cause I’m in Oregon now whatever that means. But they showed me pictures of my favorite white stuff and told me it is just a very short drive away. They promised we would go as often as possible. I’m hoping for every weekend.

Just a few more pictures for you to see.I have had the duty of taking care of my new friend today. It seems that he has bad days sometimes and I elected to stay with him and comfort him all day. I kind of kept my ecstatic enthusiasm in check today and was rewarded very well.  He told me I was the best thing to have come into his life since Isabel.; That ranks me above the Parrot!!! 5 days and already winning hearts. (Little does he know that ours were both lost with the pictures and solidified with the arrival on the 8th).

Hope all is well back in BC and I am a bit tired and need to rest now. Barks to the pack.
Peace and Love

Subject: Husky Bootcamp - Week 3
Hi Jo Anna and everyone,
I am sorry for not writing before now but Bootcamp has kept me on my toes and tired out (they say I won’t get into trouble that way, yea, Right!!!). What can I tell you. There have been many firsts since my last message. It is mid afternoon right now and I am about to go outside to my nice big Kennel. I only go there for times when Doc or Isabel have something that must get done. I sure like it. There are lots of toys, nice cool water, and a wonderful “Igloo” house (Doc says he is going to build me one so I can sit on top). The view is wonderful and there are lots of things going on. There are airplanes taking off and landing, other neighbor dogs and people who are always stopping by on their walks to see me when I am in the Kennel.I sure like it because it is the only break I get (when the neighbors leave me alone too).

I went to the Vet last week in my first car ride since I got here. Lots of things to see. I got my shots and my worm medicine. Dr. Rott is the greatest. He is so kind and gentle. He spent lots of time just letting me get to know him and he did a very extensive examination on me.He told Doc and Isabel (Big Dog and Lady Dog) that I am a very fine Husky. I have doubled in weight and size. Doc says next week I will move up to a larger crate. The one I came with is getting a little tight.

I am learning the house rules very quickly and reserving my “house piddles” for when I’m not happy with them cause they make me tow the line and behave. All the time!!!! No breaks!!!!; I am learning to maintain a sit. Learning to stay when told to.& Learning “down” for relaxation. I think the hardest one for right now is the chewing. I have many “OK” items and toys to chew but the furniture, rugs, and clothes are the best. Naturally they are the ones I cannot chew.

I am more than ready to venture out past the 1 acre yard, but Dr. Rott says I need to wait for a few more weeks and the completion of my shots. Then I will be ready to make the wonderful walks into the outback and around. Can’t Wait.

I met Whitie who is a friend of Doc’s last week and he just fell in love with me (as they all do). He was lots of fun. We played in his back yard and enjoyed his nice shaded deck. Then I went with Isabel to her work place and was introduced to all her work buddies. Wow, all those people and yes, they all loved me too!!! (Whats not to love)

Doc and Is are weaning me off the rice mix and I am getting more great food.; Lots of fresh chicken and fish, vegetables (got to try radishes and sweet bell pepper along with my celery, carrots, and frozen broccoli), and this wonderful kibble food “Innova”. Doc says it is only made with “human grade” ingredients and he says that it’s not too bad (he always tries the food to ensure it tastes good). I like it a lot!!!

;Both Doc and Is are always going on about what a wonderful and smart Husky I am (but you and I both knew that). They say that I am the “very best dog today” and I am working toward the “very best dog ever” title with great speed.I have heard much about my predecessor, Aero and many of the items, like the outside Kennel pad still has his scent, even after the washing. When will these two-leggers learn that a couple of washes does not remove the scent of several years.

For the most part, short of all the strict rules and restrictions, this place is more like a Club Med than a bootcamp, but I won’t let on. All the attention and love is almost too much. A Husky just likes to get away and relax a little bit. Thank goodness for the Kennel and the fact that Doc and Is are starting to resume some of their own interests. I was not getting a moments peace and quiet. Now I am almost getting just enough.

After Isabel leaves for work in the morning, Doc and I go outside and sit and enjoy the river for awhile. Doc enjoys has coffee and perhaps reads a bit and I get my chewy or “Greenie” and lay in the nice cool grass and relax.; After that I go into the Kennel for awhile because Doc goes into the “Studio”. That is a wonderful place. There are all kinds of friends there but I cannot ever see them. I hear them clearly though. There are all kinds of animals like hummingbirds, eagles, hawks, wolves, and yes there are even Husky pups like myself (in fact I am beginning to believe that it is me but I am not making any sound but I am still making noise??????? I don’t get it. There are lots of two-leggers making howling noises and banging on instruments as well Several times in the last couple of weeks when I have been in a grousing mood, Doc will stick this funny looking thing near my crate and then disappear into the studio. In no time at all I hear another pup in the studio copying everything I say. Doc has been taking me into the studio for short periods and I have a special area just for me with a sign above that reads “Studio Hound”, what ever that means. Doc says I am going to make a very good one though.

Since I have arrived here, Isabel has decided that she is going to retire as soon as she can so that she can stay home and have some fun with me like Doc does. Between you and me, I do like my quiet time alone.I don’t know if I can handle two of them ALL the time.

Well enough for now. I am going out for a little solitude in my Kennel. I do still dream about all of you and I think I miss you all a bit.Every now and then I call out for the pack but I only seem to hear a copy of my call at best.I think Doc and Isabel are going to work out if I can only get them better trained.  And I will say it is a challenge but they are coming around….. or is it me coming around???  Anyway, I am having fun and I am well fed and groomed every day (that takes a bit of getting used too).
Will try to write again soon, and love to you all,

Hi Jo Anna and the Wild Things,

Just another quick report for you. Today I learned to go for a bicycle-ride. It was really great. These two-legers keep under-estimating the learning power of “Zen”. Since today was the first time seeing this new
contraption called a “bicycle”, they both thought that I would just need to see it, get a bit used to it, and then walk on lead of course beside it. Boy, were they mistaken. Both Big Dog (Doc) and Lady Dog (Isabel) are very kind and patient… but I showed them… Why Wait???? Lets get going and away we went. It was so much fun and a really got to run for the first time
since getting to Husky Bootcamp. I did get a little warm and tired out (Finally). Attached are some photos from the first bicycle-ride. Finally I am getting to pull and have some real fun. Both Big Dog and Lady Dog are so
thoughtful. They stopped before I wanted to and insisted that I have some water and rest. I even get this real fun treat they call “Frosty Paws”. It is a frozen treat that they hand make for me from lots of great things like yogurt, bananas, and peanut butter. It’s great after a hot ride. I am going to head into the kitchen now for an afternoon snooze (yes, I still take Power Naps now and Zen) by the fridge. It’s really nice and cool there and I can keep an eye on them when they attempt to get food without me.

More reports will follow. I will look for my special place on the website.

Hi Jo Anna Everyone,
Doc told me about your accident and I am so sorry. I had a little one my self today. I think I forgot that I am getting much bigger now (14 lbs) and I forgot that I now need to duck when trying to go under the coffee table…. Ouch!!!!I had to yelp quite a bit and very load. Boy did I scare Big Dog (Doc) and Lady Dog (Isabel). They both came running from the computer room and I got lots of attention and love. They seemed very upset. I like all the attention but I think I’ll just remember to duck next time and get all my love and attention for being good.

I hope you are feeling better and in the early evenings I sing a song of healing for you while the other meditate and send their energy. Please take care of yourself and I have enclosed a couple of new pictures. One is what I do when I’m tired and the other is when I am not. See if you can guess which one is which.
All my love to you and the pack and listen in the night for the healing howl of energy coming to you on the wind.

Hello Jo Anna And All Of The Wild Things,

Well another week and I am now over 15 pounds and growing. The food here is great although we have started a new feeding regiment. I now must sit nicely and “wait” until I am told it is OK to get my food (they are even doing it on treats as well). I do admit I have always been in a great hurry for my food, so a little more patience and tolerance only refine my character to match my namesake (that’s what they say, I still say “Let Me At The Food!!!!). I am doing very well.; We are going on our bicycle rides now very regularly. Boy is that fun, we actually get to leave the yard and venture out. I do, on occasion, get to walk down to the mail-box to pick up mail but I am not allowed off the paved road cause I have not had all my shots yet. We are working on the “down” command and the “find” command. The “find” command is really fun. They hide a real nice treat somewhere like under an overturned cardboard box or in an obscure place without me seeing where, and then tell me to “go find it”.It is always worth the effort just for the great treats.

I am spending at least 4 hours a day now outside in my kennel. I think I already told you about it but it sure is nice. Lots to see and the neighbors are great.; They come by and say “hi” and just see how I am doing if Big Dog (Doc) has to leave with Lady Dog (Isabel). He has to go to the Vets often lately. I am learning that most of the roust-about that takes place is with Lady Dog. Big Dog seems to get tired and out of breath quite easily, but I know he loves me because he is always pushing it to the max just to have his “Quality Play Time” with me. He does tend to fill out my rest and relaxation needs and we spend lots of “Zen” time together. Sometimes the love seems overwhelming so I go and I hide under the bed in a nice place for some solitude. I think the bed keeps getting lower and lower to the floor all the time because each day it seems harder for me to squeeze under.

This last week I got to meet Big Dog’s sister Auntie Dog (Heather They call her), she came down from Portland for the week to start her next new album. She got to listen to some of the recordings that Big Dog has done of me and she has asked that several of my howls and yowls be included in one of her new songs on the album, “Animals All The Same”. Here I am barely 11 weeks old and already I am a recording star. Auntie Dog is sure fun too.She has a Jack Russell so she knows how to roust-about better that anyone. Boy, is she fun. I am sorry that she had to leave but she told me that this new album of hers is going to be about three months of “intense” (whatever that is) work and she will be here at the studio a lot more. I am looking forward to that.

Well, it’s about time for another outside trip and maybe another bike ride. Lots to do and learn here at Husky Bootcamp and it’s all great. I do miss all the Wild Things and send my lickings back too, but I am really enjoying my new home here in Oregon (but don’t let on to Big Dog and Lady Dog, I still keep them on their toes).

I do hope that your discomfort is easing up somewhat and things are sorting themselves out and returning back to normal (what ever that may be, now that I have a better “Zen” understanding). My first album is coming along but it now will be worked on in-between Auntie’s time in the studio and Big Dog’s time as well (he’s working on his new release as well) but I am assured that every effort will be made to give me as much time as possible. After all Lady Dog is the Executive CEO of Phantom Sounds and is the one who really makes the rules and schedules.

Lots of love and licks to all. New pictures are included. I like checking out everything… especially the flowers!

Doc and Lady Dog are in the music recording vocation and I hope to join in soon.!!!!
In the meantime I write letters to the pack and the wolfsongs back home. Try to keep them posted on whats up here.
